Four Filipinos, including 3 Filipino peacekeepers and a United Nations staff member, died in the earthquake. They were on the 2nd floor of the Hotel Christopher, which was used as headquarters of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Port-au-Prince, when the devastating quake struck.

Two more Filipinos -- Grace Fabian and Geraldine Lalican -- remained trapped under a collapsed Caribbean supermarket in the city of Port-au-Prince.

Well Done!

The Philippine government has done a good job of securing the return of Filipinos from Haiti. It is a commendable action on the part of DFA and OWWA.
