SUNNYVALE, California - Toyota service centers are now receiving the parts that are supposed to fix the problems in recalled vehicles, Balitang America reported.

ABS-CBN North America News Bureau Steve Angeles reported that the reinforcement bar would fix over 2 million recalled Toyota vehicles.

Toyota assured car owners that installing the new part is a quick process. First, the mechanic will verify if the accelerator pedal was produced by CTS and if so, it is part of the recall.

They will then measure it and install the new reinforcement bar. After testing the gas pedal pressure, and a quick test drive, the car is considered fixed.

The repair takes about 30 minutes.

It was learned that Toyota Sunnyvale dealership has dedicated 5 mechanics entirely to gas-pedal repairs. They will extend their hours based on the customer flow.

Salesman Delon Orquin said the recall has crippled his sales. But customers said the repair puts them at ease.

The service centers will also take drop-ins regardless of whether customers bought it from them or not.

Toyota Sunnyvale predicts it'll take about 2 months to fix the estimated 7,000 affected cars in their area. Steve Angeles, ABS-CBN North America News Bureau, Balitang America

More money for the mechanics

More money for Toyota, more money for the mechanics. Only the customer is getting screwed with a recalled vehicle. The reality is though, many people will be happy to purchase a cheaper car like those. If you do need help with the fix, get a trustworthy car repair mechanic.
