MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine government recognized the need to form a multi-task force to look after and protect overseas Filipino workers who are being used as drug mules by international drug syndicates.

“Since this involves Filipinos working abroad, there is a need for a multi-agency task force involving DFA [Department of Foreign Affairs] and DOLE [Department of Labor and Employment] so they can coordinate in monitoring and protecting our fellow Filipinos abroad,” Cabinet Secretary Silvestro Bello III said.

Bello said DFA Secretary Alberto Romulo has forwarded to Malacañang for President Arroyo's approval a draft of an administrative order (AO) creating the task force.

Under the proposed AO, the task force will be composed of agencies under DFA and DOLE, as well as the Dangerous Drugs Board, a policy-setting body, and its local implementing arm, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Just recently, 10 Filipino drug couriers were sentenced to “death without reprieve” in China. Sixty-three other Filipinos face drug-related charges in that country.

"The task force will strengthen the Philippine Government's fight against drug trafficking and protect our citizens from being victimized as drug couriers. It will also demonstrate the Government's resolve in working with China and the international community in addressing the drug menace," DFA Undersecretary Esteban Conejos said earlier.

Its called ...........

EDUCATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont just send the people into the wide world and hope that they send lots, and lots of money back so that they can be charged high and low and for what ??????

So that some bastard corrupt official can steal the money those hard working Pinoys earn. Most people in the Philippines dont know how hard those OFW's work to support vtheir families.

My fiance is a Pinoy, and I can see it with lots of her friends, the lazy husband sits in the Philippines, shakes his legs, gets drunk on Matador every night, some have a girlfriend and then wait for the loving wife to send money every month.

She works 10 - 12 hrs every day, at time with a boss who is a right asshole and threads her like shit. To get to work she needs to travel 1-2 hrs by trainb and/or bus in whatever weather there is, rain-snow-ice.

And the husband ?????????????

He gets mad when she sends her money a few days late.

EDUCATION !!!!!!!!!!!!

For all who voted for a corrupt official, you and your family as well as the rest of the Pinoy's will have to live with it. I hope you feel the pain you caused. Learn from it, people who sell their democratic vote should be threaded as TRAITORS.
