To provide more assistance for workers displaced by the global economic crisis, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has established a partnership with an affiliate of one of Asia's leading online recruitment companies.

In a statement released Tuesday, Labor Secretary Marianito Roque said the DOLE has entered into an agreement with JobStreet Select Inc., a private executive search and staffing partner of JobStreet.com, with the collaboration taking effect after one year.

Roque said the partnership would boost the DOLE's efforts to facilitate the recruitment and placement of Filipino workers, with JobStreet.com serving hiring requirements of over 10,000 employees and processing over 15,000 jobs posted daily on its website.

Under the agreement, the DOLE's Phil-Jobnet homepage will be linked to all available jobs in the JobsStreet.com website. Job seekers from Phil-Jobnet will be able to view existing vacancies, job fairs, and other events posted in the JobStreet.com website without requiring them to register with the latter.

Phil-Jobnet is the DOLE’s computerized skills and jobs matching system showing vacancy announcements of employers and resumes of registered jobseekers.

JobStreet.com has the largest online job seeker database with over 1 million registered members across the country. It also has operations in India, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand.
