Passion, hope and perseverance transformed a former overseas Filipino worker into a successful Pinoy.

Jeffrey Ximo Ramos felt all his dreams of a better future collapse when he lost his job five years ago in Dubai. Unfortunately, Ramos was not given a release paper or a “no objection letter” by his company. Because of this, he was unable to transfer to other companies and was subsequently banned and deported from Dubai.

Instead of wallowing in self pity, Ramos realized that he had too much time on his hands. He made use of this time to write a book about his bitter experience abroad.

The book titled “I know what to do, Pinoy success handbook” is now giving many Filipinos hope to succeed in times of crisis.

"Kapag kayo nawalan ng work, nagkakaroon naman kayo ng free time. Find your passion and once you have your passion, remember passion sells, meaning you could earn out of that passion. And then later on magiging work na rin yun," Ramos said.

By trusting in himself and with the support given by his wife, Ramos’ book enabled him to express to his readers how he attained success.

"Success is very simple. Look for that passion and make use of the time," he said.

The book is around 500 pages. It gives readers tips on how to become successful in any endeavor.

Aside from the book, Ramos also opened a company that handles personal and professional development trainings.

"What we are doing now, we are what we call successful Pinoys, successful Pinoy akos. We are balancing each and every part of our success. So who am I? I can say I am 100 percent Philippine pride, 100% successful Pinoy," said Ramos.

"Hindi impossible talaga na maging successful. You just have to know what to do," he said. Report from Rachel Salinel, ABS-CBN Middle East News Bureau, Dubai
