A 12-year old native from Toledo City, Cebu came in second in reality television show Australia's Got Talent.

Having just migrated to Australia in 2008, permanent resident Jal Joshua has already won the hearts of many Australian viewers.

In an interview with ABS-CBN Australia News Bureau, Joshua's mom, Jocelyn Lebumfacil, said Joshua almost didn't join the contest.

'I don't want Joshua to join the competition because he is still very young. I just don't want him to go through any embarrassment because I really didn't know what will happen to him, but his dad filled it up and signed it,” said Jocelyn.

Joshua, however, said he was enchanted with the program after watching last year's contest.

“I watched Australia's Got Talent last year. I liked to join and my parents just supported me,” he said.

For a small person, Joshua packs a powerful and enchanting voice. Jazz is among his favorite styles of music.

He loves to hang out with his friends, and in his spare time, draw, dance and play a computer game that creates virtual worlds.

In the finals, Jal Joshua lost the $250,000 top prize to 15-year-old opera singer Mark Vincent.

Despite the loss, Jal Joshua said he is happy for Mark. “I felt just alright because Mark also deserved to win,” he said.

Three other Filipinos made it to the semi-finals. They were Bobby Harrisson, Chelsea Castillo, and Lincoln from Australian martial arts. Jerome Somodio, ABS-CBN Australia News Bureau
