Filipinos and French nationals held a protest rally to demand justice for the death of a Pinoy teenager who was stabbed by one of five students who attacked him in Trappe, Paris, France.

The victim was identified as 16-years-old Sharif Ibrahim, a student at the College le Village in Trappes, France.

Another OFW, Fatima Abidin, also wants justice for the teenager and to prevent a repeat of the crime.

ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau correspondent Bong Agustinez reported that Ibrahim was attacked by five students as he was about to leave school. One of the suspects stabbed him with an ice pick. The suspects were arrested and allegedly confessed to the crime.

Ibrahim was immediately rushed to the Georges Pompidou hospital where he remained comatose for one and a half day.

His parents, Sarah and Reskie Ibrahim, both natives of Cotabato City, and their friends were initially relieved to learn that the blood clot from the wound was removed, and that the boy regained consciousness.

However, their joy was short-lived as the teenager eventually died.

Doctors at the hospital declared that Ibrahim suffered a heart attack.

“Mga 20 to 30 minutes kaming nagaantay mismo doon sa kuwarto. So ang report ng doctor doon, alas-3:30 nakita nila yung bata nasa loob daw ng toilet at doon siya inatake,” said a family friend, Musib Salih.

The family is still shock as they all saw that the boy seemed fine already. They are now waiting for the autopsy result before taking any appropriate action.

His father said that Ibrahim had no known enemy in their school. His son was into basketball.

The group, led by parents, students and members of the Comite General Association of Filipinos in France, with Balitang Europe and the Order of the Knights of Rizal, offered prayers to the victim. -- With reports from Leo Mojica, ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau, Paris
