Former DH is now a gallery owner in Paris
Determination and hard work paved the way for a former domestic helper to succeed in Paris, France.
It was in 1991 when Rose Arbilo arrived in Paris. Arbilo served as a household domestic worker because she lacked the legal working papers to find other employment.
Now, her employers are very happy to find her enjoying her achievements.
“I wish you success because you deserve that,” said Jacques Jalazka, her former employer.
Arbilo is the first Filipina and 10th person who make horse jockey uniforms in France.
“Sa France, siyam lamang ang mananahi ng mga uniform ng hinete ng kabayo. And then pang-sampu ako sa buong France, at ako ang kauna-unahang Pilipina na nananahi ng mga uniform ng hinete ng kabayo,” Arbilo told ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau.
Not only that, she attributes her success to hard work and to the support she received from her family.
From the money she saved, Arbilo was able to set up a gallery called the “Arbilo Gallery” in Paris.
Arbilo hopes that her business would continue to grow to help her family and also extend assistance to Filipinos in need of employment. Report from Bong Agustinez, ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau
