Three Filipino bowlers in Austria finished second in a recently concluded bowling tournament in Vienna.

Larry Subido, Edwin Castillanes and Henry Sedeno got a silver medal at the tournament held at the Plus Bowling Hall, 1170 in Vienna. The tournament was spearheaded by the Österrreichsche Kegel Verband (Austrian Bowling Association), the highest and biggest bowling tournament in Austria.

“Teamwork and focus on games made it all for us to garner this top position. We are very much honored since we are the only Filipinos who joined this prestigious tournament,” Subido told ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau.

“My teammates bowled their best to give [their] necessary share whenever they were on play,” Subido added.

The group became among the strongest contenders in the competition because of their team work and excellent bowling skills.

”The Filipino bowlers bowled consistently on their campaign against their opponents. I sensed their intensity to win,” an Austrian opponent commented.

“Good focus and right preparations enabled us to perform well during the entire tournament. But there are still many things to improve in our game and we hope we can do this before we go into more big tournaments in the country,” Castillanes said.
