Overseas Filipino workers who are victims of human trafficking are also sold to prostitution dens in Malaysia.

This was disclosed by two domestic workers named “Vicky” and “Mary” who sought help from authorities after suffering maltreatment from their Singaporean employer.

The two claimed that there are still many Filipino women who are being detained and forced to sell their bodies by their employers in Malaysia.

“Hindi na po kami binibigyan ng chance na makahanap ng panibagong employer. Ise-send na lang daw po kami sa prostitution,” Mary said.

They added that immigration officials are reportedly involved in trafficking undocumented OFWs to Malaysia.

In their case, their employer, Alfred Lim, slipped them out of the country without working permits through the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark, Pampanga. They were escorted by immigration personnel while in the airport.

“Ibinigay po sa akin ang aking passport na may letter A. Tapos yung passport ko po may perang 2,220. Siya na po ang nagpasok ng aming bagahe. Pagbalik sa amin ng aming mga passports 600 na lang po laman,” Vicky said.

In Malaysia, they were handed over to other employers as domestic helpers while the good looking ones end up in prostitution dens.

Those who no longer appeals to them are turned over to Malaysian immigration agents in exchange for money.

“Kada ulo po 100 ringgit,” Vicky said.

The Department of Justice Task Force against Trafficking met with the Royal Malaysian Police who acted immediately by arresting Lim. They have long suspected Lim of being involved in prostitution.

Meanwhile, Immigration Commissioner Marcelino Libanan promised to go after BI personnel engaged in human trafficking. Reports from Henry Omaga Diaz, TV Patrol World
