Friends, family and colleagues are now praying for the speedy recovery of ABS-CBN Europe News Bureau contributor Theresa Salamero in Italy.

“I enjoined everyone to pray for the recovery of Tess, who is a very active contributor for BEU (Balitang Europe),” said Europe News Bureau Chief Danny Buenafe.

In an e-mail sent by Buenafe to the BEU team, he said Salamero suffered a severe brain clot that left her unconscious last week.

Salamero, 40, contributes stories for the BEU from Firenze.

“She is now confined at the ICU in a hospital in Pisa,” Buenafe said in his email letter sent to the BEU team.

Buenafe said that a friend was with Salamero at the time of the incident.

According to Salamero’s friend, Tess was on the train going to Pisa from Firenze to meet up with a Filipino friend.

“Before the seizure, Tess could hardly talk in a straight manner, and her left body already paralyzed,” said Buenafe.

As of Sunday, doctors attending to Salamero said that she might remain in her present condition until next week.

Although Salamero’s pulse rate and blood pressure remain normal, doctors said they will only continue to study her condition for any possible operation when her body can breathe on its own without the help of an apparatus.
