MANILA (UPDATE) – Thirty-five of the 38 respondents charged in the pork barrel scam have been placed on the Bureau of Immigration’s (BI) lookout bulletin, BI spokesperson Maan Pedro said on Wednesday.
The 3 incumbent senators, Jinggoy Estrada; Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla; and Juan Ponce Enrile, were not included on the list as courtesy because they belong to the legislative branch, a co-equal of the executive branch.
BI officer-in-charge Sigfried Mison signed the order past 5 p.m. upon verbal instructions of Justice Secretary Leila De Lima.
If any of the 35 individuals express an interest or attempt to leave the country, they should first coordinate with the Department of Justice.
Among those placed on the lookout list are former lawmakers Rizalina Seachon-Lanete, Edgar Valdez, Rodolfo Plaza, Samuel Dangwa, and Constantino Jaraula.
Also included are businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles and Enrile’s chief of staff Jessica Lucila 'Gigi' Reyes.
Napoles is currently detained at the Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa, Laguna while Reyes is already out of the country. -- Report from Ina Reformina, ABS-CBN News
