MANILA, Philippines – Fire gutted 61 houses and left 3 people injured in Parañaque City Thursday morning, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.

The NDRRMC said the fire occurred in Culdesac, Sun Valley at around 11:30 a.m. The fire allegedly started due to "unattended cooking."

Three residents, Kim Gangoso, 10; Fred Seriola, 50; and Manuel Arboleda, 4, sustained minor injuries.

The fire reached the second alarm and was declared out at 1:20 p.m.

At least 92 families were affected by the blaze, and an estimated P1 million worth of property were lost.

The NDRRMC said the Philippine Red Cross – Rizal Chapter and Parañaque Red Cross aided the affected families.
