MANILA, Philippines -- Real-life couple Bea Alonzo and Zanjoe Marudo will take their romance to the big screen via the 20th anniversary film offering of Star Magic.
Unlike their relationship off-screen, however, Alonzo and Marudo's romance in "24/7 In Love" grows from an unconventional start -- an "accidental" affair between a gay man (Marudo) and a woman (Alonzo).
In the first trailer for the romance anthology, Marudo's character is in shock over an apparent one-night stand with Alonzo's character. The Kapamilya actor feels violated by the act he seems to have no memory of.
"I was expecting, somehow, mawawala 'yung pagka-bading, dahil sariling emosyon mo na 'yung papaganahin mo.
Having first worked with Alonzo for an episode in the TV drama anthology "Maalaala Mo Kaya," Marudo said he made new "discoveries" about his girlfriend over the course of filming for "24/7 In Love."
Aside from the "love team" of Marudo and Alonzo, "24/7 In Love" also features the team-ups of Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz; Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo; Zaijan Jaranilla and Xyriel Manabat, with Piolo Pascual; Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson; Diether Ocampo and Maja Salvador; and Pokwang and Sam Milby.
In an interview with "Showbiz Inside Report" aired last Saturday, Panganiban said the romance anthology film is "about the end of the world."
"Ang question: Paano kung bukas end of the world na, anong gagawin mo? Sinong gusto mo makasama," said Panganiban, whose scenes in the film with her real-life boyfriend, Cruz, took them to Vietnam.
Directed by John D. Lazatin, Mae Czarina Cruz, Frasco Santos Mortiz and Dado Lumibao, "24/7 In Love" will hit theaters nationwide on November 21.
