MANILA, Philippines – Rape charges will also be filed against the suspects in the killing of model and ABS-CBN talent Julie Anne Rodelas after tests showed that the victim was indeed raped.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Chief Mario Dela Vega said tests revealed that the victim had deep healed lacerations on her genitals.
According to arrested suspect Jaymar Waradje, two other suspects, alias “Aldos” and Efren Talib, took turns in raping Rodelas inside a hideout in Culiat, Quezon City.
Authorities are now in pursuit of the two suspects, and are targeting their arrests before Rodelas is laid to rest.
They said that based on an intelligence report, both suspects are still in Manila.
Waradje and his companion Gelan Pasawilan were arrested in a follow-up operation in Culiat, Quezon City.
Police earlier arrested Rodelas’s friend Althea Altamirano and Altamirano’s boyfriend Fernando Quiambao Jr., who is being tagged as the mastermind in the killing.
Rodelas will be laid to rest at the Golden Haven Park in Las Piñas City.
The 20-year-old model was found dead in Cubao last November 6. Altamirano said she had her friend abducted to “teach her a lesson” for spreading gossip, but claimed that she had no knowledge that Rodelas would be shot dead. -- Report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
