[11]MANILA, Philippines – Two people were killed after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a passenger bus in Banate, Iloilo on Saturday morning.
The victims were identified as motorcycle driver Tirso Landayaw, 33, and his passenger Maxene Palabrica, 21.
Police investigation showed that the collision occurred after Landayaw tried to overtake another vehicle along Barangay Belen.
Bus driver Radney Codo, 55, said he did not avoid the motorcycle because if he did, he would have slammed into a store along the road, which could have harmed his passengers.
Meanwhile, the passengers of the bus did not sustain any injuries.
Codo is now facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide. -- Report from John Fernandez, ABS-CBN News Iloilo
