[11]MANILA, Philippines – Deep in debt and with no money to pay for lawyers, victims of the parent-teachers pyramid scam in Quezon City sought the help of Senator Aquilino ‘Koko’ Pimentel III, founder of the Kontra Pandaraya movement, in the filing of cases against Janet and Danilo Bernades Gujilde.
The couple is allegedly behind the swindling of more than P100 million in teachers' and parents' savings.
“Habulin natin lahat ng perpetrators, kapag sinabi nating perpetrators, hindi lamang ‘yung mastermind, pero lahat na din ng nakinabang,” Pimentel said.
The victims believe that since there's still no warrant of arrest for the suspects, they continue to lure investors.
The victims also warn the public not to be blinded by the offer of high returns.
“Huwag kayo basta-basta magtitiwala sa tao na nagkukunwaring mabait,” said Jocelyn Nazareno, one of the victims.
Pimentel, meanwhile, urged other victims to contact his office for assistance.
On Thursday, the fiscal's office of Quezon City will hear the complaint of large scale estafa against Janet and Danilo Gujilde.
The victims hope they will get justice. -- ANC
