But Pacman says Marquez is being unfair

MANILA, Philippines – Boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao admitted that he has been having a hard time figuring out Juan Manuel Marquez’s fighting style.

Pacquiao, who faces Marquez for the 4th time on December 8, said that what makes the Mexican boxer really dangerous is his counterpunching abilities.

“Marquez is a good fighter. He’s, in fact, one of the best in this era. I admit, hirap talaga ako sa kanya. He’s the hardest opponent I faced,” Pacquiao told Philboxing [12]’s Eddie Alinea.

Pacquiao has had 3 close fights with Marquez.

He decked Marquez thrice in the 1st round of their 2004 encounter, but the resilient Mexican fought on to secure a draw.

His succeeding clashes with the Mexican in 2008 and 2011 saw him hammering out close decisions against Marquez.

But Pacquiao pointed out that he can pull off a decisive win against Marquez in their 4th bout.

“He is beatable. He can be knocked down as I did to him the first two fights,” he said.

Pacquiao also admitted that he felt bad over Marquez’s robbery claims.

He stressed that his Mexican rival wasn’t able to knock him down in all of their 3 fights.

“Me, he never sent me to the canvas in those 36 rounds that we’re in the ring,” said Pacquiao.

“Unfair naman na sabihin nya na hindi ko siya tinalo doon sa tatlong laban na ‘yun. Unfair din na sisihin nya ang judges. At unfair ding sabihing na ninakawan siya ng panalo.”

(It’s unfair for him to claim that I didn’t beat him in all those three fights. He’s also being unfair in blaming the judges. And it’s also unfair to claim that he was robbed).
