MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has pre-qualified three groups for the P35.4 billion Cavite-Laguna expressway (CALA-Ex) project.
Public Works assistant secretary Eugenio Pipo Jr. said the three groups are Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC), Team Orion of Ayala Corp., and Optimal Infrastructure Development Inc. of diversified conglomerate San Miguel Corp.
The groups, along with AlloyMTD Capital, submitted pre-qualification documents on October 23.
However, Pipo said AlloyMTD Capital still has to provide documents to show its construction experience and to specify a design contractor.
He said the pre-bid conference will be held on November 19. Pre-qualified bidders will have one-on-one discussions from Nov. 25 to Nov. 29.
The submission of technical and financial bids is scheduled on January 20, 2014, Pipo added.
The 47-kilometer CALA expressway is DPWH’s third project under the public-private partnership scheme.
The project is the biggest PPP project so far in terms of project cost.
The expressway will start from the Cavitex in Kawit, Cavite and end at the SLEX-Mamplasan Interchange in Biñan, Laguna.
