MANILA, Philippines -- Former "Miss Saigon" actress Isay Alvarez is set to topbill the revival of the Filipino musical "Katy".

Isay Alvarez plays the title role in Spotlight Artists Centre's "Katy" revival

Alvarez will portray Bodabil Queen Katy dela Cruz in Spotlight Artists Centre's revival production starting January 17 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino.

As Katy, Alvarez takes the stage as the renowned singer, whose singing career takes her to jazz clubs in the United States.

The stage actress is joined in "Katy" by Tirso Cruz III, Dulce, Lou Veloso, Gian Magdangal, Tricia Amper-Jimenez and Epi Quizon in special roles.

Directed by Nestor Torre and written by Jose Javier Reyes, the revival production features music by Ryan Cayabyab.

Staged as the maiden offering of Spotlight Artists Centre this year, "Katy" will run until January 27 at the CCP.
