"The Filipino Flash" wants a boy

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – Filipino boxing champion Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire on Monday announced that he is going to become a father.

Donaire, in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN's "Umagang Kay Ganda", described the news of his wife Rachel's pregnancy as the biggest he had received in 2012.

Rachel is now on her third month of pregnancy.

"Pero meron pa pong pinakamalaki pang [balita] kesa sa lahat ng nakuha ko sa 2012… For me, I've achieved what most fighters na nakuha, parang nabalewala iyon akin nang sinabi sa akin ng wife ko na I'm going to be a father," he said in a Skype interview from his residence in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"Gusto ko lalaki. But ang importante healthy baby, kahit babae o lalaki," he said.

Rachel shares her husband's preference.

With a new baby coming, Donaire said he may have to change his priorities and decline fight offers.

"For me, first baby ko po ito, baka magkaka-cancel ako ng laban kung bibigyan ako. Kasi gusto ko nandoon ako everyday, every moment," he said.

"Lahat ng mga tests, lahat ng mga ultrasounds gusto kong makita lahat yun. Parang napapaiyak ako pag nakikita ko ang movements ng baby ko."

Nonetheless, Donaire said that there are three possible fight
