MANILA, Philippines - Actor Coco Martin shared his excitement over his newest series, "Juan dela Cruz", where he gets to play the role of a superhero for the first time.
In an interview on Tuesday, Martin said "Juan dela Cruz" is a breather from his heavy, dramatic roles, the most recent being the lead character Daniel in the defunct ABS-CBN top-rating series "Walang Hanggan".
"Kasi sabi ko talaga after ng 'Walang Hanggan', kasi nagsunod-sunod ako from 'Tayong Dalawa', 'Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo', 'Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin' as saka 'Walang Hanggan', gusto ko kahit paano at least medyo magaan naman, medyo relaxed," he said.
"Pero may action at drama pa rin. May comedy.
Martin added that he has dreamed of playing the role of a superhero, particularly Superman, ever since he was young.
Martin happily shared that as early as now, he has been receiving praises over his new role, with people saying that he really fits the series' superhero character.
He said he will try his best to become a good example, particularly to the youth.
