MANILA - Sen. Panfilo Lacson on Monday confirmed that Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago was the anonymous senator he accused in a previous interview of misusing Senate funds.
And because of that, he said he's studying the possibility of filing charges against her before the Ombudsman.
Lacson said he has documents to prove his accusation, which he intends to submit to the Commission on Audit.
In a radio interview last week, Lacson said a senator, whom he did not identify, uses Senate funds to pay her maids' salary and the rental of a satellite office, and buy groceries.
Santiago is currently on sick leave due to hypertension and chronic bone marrow disorder.
"Get well soon," Lacson said, referring to Santiago, "para I can already press charges against her."
"Pangit naman 'yong maysakit, wala namang laban," he added.
Lacson and Santiago engaged in a word war last week after she crticized him for defending Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile on the issue of his distribution of the Senate's savings as cash gifts to senators.
Lacson called Santiago a "crusading crook" who "pretends to be clean when she is not."
