MANILA, Philippines – A 25-year-old drug pusher ranked No. 1 in the priority target list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the Ilocos region was arrested in a buy-bust operation Thursday last week.
The suspect was identified as 25-year-old Bryan Tilles of Barangay Lioac Norte, Naguilian, La Union, PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac Jr. announced in a statement.
Tilles was caught a few minutes after 6 p.m. Thursday after he sold four sachets of methampetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu, to a PDEA agent disguised as a buyer in Barangay Lioac.
Various drug paraphernalia and two P500 marked bills used during the transaction were confiscated from Tilles.
“We had Tilles under tight surveillance for some time because of his involvement in the proliferation of shabu in the municipalities of Naguilian and Bauang, La Union,” Cacdac said.
Meanwhile, two suspected drug pushers were apprehended by PDEA agents in Pangasinan.
The suspects, identified as Roberto dela Cruz and Isidro Caita, were arrested by agents of the PDEA Pangasinan Sector Special Enforcement Team after they conspired to sell four sachets of shabu weighing approximately 17.2 grams to a poseur-buyer along Palaris Street, Poblacion, San Carlos City last week.
The three suspects are facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
An additional charge for violation of Section 12 (Possessing Drug Paraphernalia) was also filed against Tilles.
