MANILA (UPDATE) – An explosion allegedly caused by a gas leak rocked Bonifacio Global City in Taguig Wednesday afternoon.
The blast occurred in front of the Two Parkade building at the corner of 7th Ave. and 30th St. at around 4:30 p.m.
Sr. Supt. Arthur Felix Asis said the blast came from a water drainage system, which caused several manhole covers to be lifted off the ground.
Witnesses said the explosion sounded like a blown tire and was followed by a strong gas odor.
Construction workers also said they saw a big fire from one of the manholes.
No casualties or damages have been reported, as of posting.
Authorities have cordoned off the area as investigations are still ongoing. -- Reports from Henry Atuelan, dzMM; Maan Macapagal and Ces Oreña-Drilon, ABS-CBN News
