MANILA, Philippines – Many Filipinos are still not content with their work overseas. This was the result of an informal survey conducted by an online job portal for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
Results showed that majority or 68 percent of the respondents answered “No” while those who answered “Yes” translated to 32 percent only.
Some cited low salary and poor benefits (49 percent) as one of the major reasons why they are unhappy with their work, while 35 percent said employers were mean and unfair and do not recognize their hard work. Others cited work challenges as boring (14 percent), and the remaining 2 percent do not get along with their co-workers.
The workers said a great compensation package, good work environment that also fosters employee development, and fair company policies are factors that will ensure employees job satisfaction.
The online survey was conducted from November 10, 2012 up to January 25, 2013.
