MANILA, Philippines – Former world heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield is in the Philippines to visit the victims of Typhoon "Pablo".

Holyfield, a goodwill ambassador of Global Village Champions Foundation, will be in the country for a week to give assistance to the residents in Mindanao affected by the typhoon.

The former boxing champion arrived in the country early Wednesday morning. He is accompanied by the Global Village Champions Yank Barry.

Holyfield is also expected to meet with Filipino boxing icon Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, also a goodwill ambassador of the foundation.

On its website, the foundation described itself as "a not-for-profit organization with a 19+ year track record of excellence."
