The Mandarin Oriental, Manila offers a host of Valentine treats for couples from culinary delights to room packages and even gifts from the Mandarin Deli and Flower Shop, as well as jewelry by Marilou Jewellery.
Lovers of French cuisine can dine at The Tivoli on February 14, which has a special five-course menu created by Executive Sous Chef Remi Vercelli, priced at P3,900 nett per person. Paseo Uno, meanwhile, has a Valentine’s Day dinner buffet, priced at P2,600 nett. For diners who like a more Oriental flavor, Executive Chinese Chef Hann Furn Chen of Tin Hau has created exquisite set menus, starting from P1,388+++.
Those who dine at any of three restaurants on Valentine’s Day can join a raffle, where they can win a necklace with heart-shaped pendants set in 14-karat white and yellow gold from Marilou Jewellery.
The hotel also has a “Lovebirds” room package for couples starting at P11,400 ++ per night and inclusive of: buffet breakfast, a bottle of premium red wine, chocolate-dipped strawberries, one-hour massage for two persons at The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Manila, complimentary Internet and local calls, and a bird cage to bring home. Those who stay in a Club Suite get a bottle of champagne, plus a luxurious Couple’s Bliss Spa Treatment at The Spa.

The Peninsula Manila offers special menus for couples at The Lobby, Spices, Old Manila and Escolta on Valentine’s Day, while singles can head to Salon de Ning, which is holding a Black Valentines Singles Party. For P1,800 nett, guests can enjoy an open bar on Belvedere cocktails, Chandon sparkling wines, house wines and beers, while ladies will receive a long-stemmed red rose.
For gift ideas, The Peninsula Boutique offers wines, chocolates and premium gourmet items, while flowers can be bought at The Peninsula Flower Shop.
The Makati hotel is also offering a special room package tied with the romantic comedy musical “They’re Playing Our Song” until March 3. Highlights of the package include tickets for two to the musical, round-trip limousine transfer to the RCBC Plaza, a three-course dinner for two at Old Manila with a glass of Champagne and a bouquet of flowers, afternoon tea buffet for two at The Lobby and breakfast for two at Escolta. The package is priced at P16,500++ for a deluxe room and P20,500++ for a premier suite.

Set A, priced at P699++ starts with Tuscan Onion Soup (caramelized onions, leeks & smoked bacon) followed by Grilled Artichoke and Tomato Salad (Mesclun, Feta Cheese, Edible Flowers, Passionfruit Vinaigrette). The main course is Herb Crusted Merlot Braised U.S. Beef Short Ribs (Roasted Baby Potato, French Beans, Cherry Tomato Confit with Red Wine Jus). Capping this set menu is Apple, Cinnamon & Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert.
Set B, at P650++, begins with Saffron Citrus Honey Mussel Soup (Blue Mussel, Smoked Bacon, Fresh Herbs) followed by Grilled Seafood Salad (Mesclun, Mixed Seafood, Artichoke, Asparagus, Lemon Lime Vinaigrette). Herb Marinated Poached Salmon (Mashed Potato, Grilled Asparagus, Kalamata Olive Relish, Orange Beurre Blanc) is the main course.
