MANILA - Bangon Pilipinas senatorial candidate Bro. Eddie Villanueva revealed Wednesday former president Joseph Estrada had offered him a slot in the senatorial ticket of the United Nationalist Alliance but he declined.
In an interview on ANC's Headstart, Villanueva, the founder of Jesus is Lord Movement, said Estrada attended a fellowship organized by his group.
The former president supposedly told Villanueva he has a good political platform and his programs should not go to waste.
He said he declined the offer to join UNA because he supports President Aquino's "daang matuwid" program.
He added he prefers to take a neutral stand in the fight between UNA and Team PNoy.
"I courteously declined. Kaibigan ko kasi silang lahat e. Kaibigan ko ang PNoy administration. Kaibigan ko rin yung UNA leaders," he said.
He added: "I have been supporting the daang matuwid na pamamahala ni PNoy...I prefer to be neutral to them."
