Classes suspended in Paranaque, Manila, QC [1]

MANILA - Classes in all levels from pre-school to college for public and private schools in Parañaque City are suspended as of 10:14 a.m. Friday, according to Mayor Jun Bernabe. This is after the northeast monsoon caused moderate to heavy rains in Metro Manila.

Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim also suspended classes in all levels for all public schools in the city of Manila. He said he will leave it up to officials of private schools to declare cancellation of classes.

Classes from elementary to high school in public and private schools in Quezon City were also suspended by Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista.

Weather bureau PAGASA raised the yellow rainfall warning as of 8 a.m. Friday, indicating moderate to heavy rainfall in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal for the next three hours.

PAGASA warned residents in low-lying areas and those near the river channels of possible flooding.

The weather bureau also had a forecast of light to moderate rains over Metro Manila, Aurora, Bataan and Bulacan.
