MANILA – The death toll from tropical depression "Crising" has risen to four, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Friday.

The NDRRMC identified the fatalities as Francisco Digaynon and Erwin Campana, Nelson Jimenez and Namatyagan Namones.

Digaynon and Campana drowned while crossing the Taytayan and Saug rivers in Compostela Valley, respectively.

Jimenez, 40, drowned while rescuing someone in Barangay Sampang, Kapalong, Davao del Norte.

Meanwhile, Namones, 12, died in a landslide incident at the border of San Fernando, Bukidnon and Davao Oriental.

Two people were also reported missing. They were identified as Percelo Apolinario and Suden Abdullah.

Apolinario, 63, went missing while crossing a river in Barangay Magugba, Libacao, Aklan.

On the other hand, Abdullah, a fisherman, was not able to return from his expedition due to large waves off Maitum, Sarangani Province.

The NDRRMC said 25,709 sought refuge in evacuation centers in Midnanao. At least 183,966 residents were affected by the tropical depression.

Weather bureau PAGASA said Crising has already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
