Educational Attainment

  • When she was in Maryknoll College (now Miriam College), she studied International Studies from 1977 to 1981. She even made the Dean’s List on her senior year.
     
  • She took her law degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law and finished in 1986.
     
  • From 1997 to 2002, Pimentel took a Masters in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines’ National College of Public Administration & Governance. During this time, she received a Civil Service scholarship. 

Career Timeline

Pimentel taught English and History in the high school, Liceo de Cagayan, Cagayan de Oro City.

1988-1998: She worked as Solicitor III from the Office of the Solicitor-General.

1998-Present: She served as the Chief of Staff for her father, Aquilino Pimentel, in the Office of the Minority Leader at the Senate of the Philippines.

2001-2007:
She worked as a board member for Department of Social Welfare and Development Inter-Country Adoption Board. She was also a member of the Inter-Country Adoption Placement Committee

2007: Pimentel wrote the book, “Adopting A Filipino Child The Inter-Country Way.”

Pimentel currently co-hosts Radio Veritas’ “Kabiyak Sa Batas” radio show every Saturday from 9 am to 10:30 am. “Kabiyak sa Batas” is a public affairs show discussing advocacies on systems and cultures of different Philippine communities. It also discusses how the Church responds to the needs of the community.
