MANILA, Philippines - Talk N Text head coach Chot Reyes insisted they are not looking for revenge when they face the Petron Blaze Boosters in the semifinals of the PBA Philippine Cup.

Petron derailed Talk N Text's quest for a historic grand slam last season, when they defeated the Tropang Texters in a highly entertaining 7-game series in the Governors Cup Finals.

Despite losing out on the chance to be only the 4th team in league history to win the coveted Grand Slam, Reyes said they are not focusing on the revenge factor.

"It's not about redemption," he told PBA.ph. "Our motivation springs from our desire to be the best we can be. It comes from within." [http://www.pba.ph/news/entry/1328

But his star point guard, Jimmy Alapag, admitted that they are hoping to settle the score with Petron.

"This is a great opportunity for us to have our payback. This gives ourselves a chance to beat Petron," Alapag said.

Talk N Text won both games against Petron in the elimination round this season, and they are hoping to become only the second team since 1985 to win back-to-back Philippine Cup championships.

However, Alapag acknowledged it will not be easy to beat the Boosters. "Petron definitely has a lot of talented players and has a very good coach," he said.

"Our two victories against them don't mean anything come playoff time. Things are back to zero-zero," Alapag added.

Moreover, the Texters still have to deal with a number of injuries.

Petron and Talk N Text will begin their best-of-7 semifinal series on January 5 at the Cuneta Astrodome.
