Favorites lead the way in 30th SeaOil MMBL

MANILA, Philippines – After over a month of play, the 30th SeaOil Metro Manila Basketball League (MMBL) will go into the second half of the tournament with some familiar names on top of their respective divisions.

NCAA champions San Beda Red Cubs are on top of Division 1-A with an unblemished 6-0 record. while the UAAP champion, FEU-FERN, is in second place with a 5-2 slate.

In Division 1-B, the retooled Hope Christian High School is tied with UAAP first-runner up National University (NU) with identical 4-1 records.

San Beda’s Team B is lording it over Division II-A with a 7-0 record, while NU’s Team B is in second place at 6-1.

University of Santo Tomas’ Team B, meanwhile, is on top of Division II-B with a 6-0 slate.

College of San Benildo-Rizal leads Division III-A with a spotless 7-0 record, while San Beda College Alabang-A rules Division III-B with an identical 7-0 slate.

In Division IV-A, NU’s Team C has a 6-0 record, while Xavier’s Team B reigns on top of Division IV-B with a 6-0 record as well.

Chiang Kai Shek is undefeated in the girls’ division with a 7-0 slate. De La Salle Zobel is in second place after amassing a 5-1 record.

The 30th SeaOil MMBL will resume this month, with the games being held at the San Beda College in Mendiola, Manila, International School-Manila, St. Stephen’s High School and the PhilSports Arena.

The SeaOil MMBL is the largest and longest-running high school tournament in the Philippines.
