MANILA, Philippines -- Four teams will see action at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City as the 2009-10 KFC PBA Philippine Cup resumes on Wednesday.

According to PBA.ph, defending champion Talk N Text will slug it out with Barangay Ginebra, while Sta. Lucia Realty will do battle with Rain or Shine in the homestretch of the eliminations.

The Tropang Texters are eyeing to move closer to the No. 2 slot plus an automatic semifinals berth that goes with it after the eliminations.

“After two weeks off, we couldn’t ask for a bigger game to start the New Year. We can’t wait to play again and I’m sure they (Kings) are just as eager,” said TNT tactician Chot Reyes in the PBA report.

Ginebra, meanwhile, will work on moving alongside the Texters at 3rd. The Gin Kings are also targeting an outright berth in the quarterfinals which the third- to fifth-placed teams are assured of.

The Gin Kings will try to accomplish this with the help of gunner Mark Caguioa, who will be back in place of Doug Kramer.

“They (Tropang Texters) are a scoring machine and we have to be able to match it,” said Ginebra mentor Jong Uichico.

The Gin Kings will tangle with the Texters at 7:30 p.m..

Caloy Garcia’s Rain or Shine (RoS) also needs a win to boost their chances of making it into the quarterfinals. They will meet Burger King, which is at 7th place.

However, Rain or Shine will have to catch up with Sta. Lucia, which is in the middle of the team standings.

“We need to win this game if we want to give ourselves a chance (for an outright quarterfinals slot),” said Realtors coach Boyet Fernandez.

“It will be a tough one because RoS is a very dangerous team,” he added.

The Rain or Shine Sta. Lucia match will take place at 5 p.m..
