Mayweather blasts Pacquiao after talks collapse
NEW YORK – Floyd Mayweather Jr. launched a verbal jab at Filipino WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao on Thursday after talks to revive their planned mega-fight collapsed.
"Throughout this whole process I have remained patient, but at this point I am thoroughly disgusted that Pacquiao and his representatives are trying to blame me for the fight not happening when clearly the blame is on them," Mayweather said in a statement.
"First and foremost, not only do I want to fight Manny Pacquiao, I want to whip his punk ass."
A World Boxing Organization welterweight title bout slated for March 13 against Mayweather in Las Vegas was expected to be among boxing's biggest revenue-producing fights.
The bout, widely considered to have matched the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world, was called off on Wednesday when Mayweather's demand for Olympic-style dope testing was rejected by Pacquiao.
Pacquiao's promoters announced on Thursday they will probably name a fresh opponent before the end of the week.
"We expect Manny to fight in March," a spokesman for Top Rank told Reuters.
"We're working on an opponent for him and we should have something finalized in a day or two."
Mayweather said he offered a compromise but Pacquiao refused to bend.
"Before the mediation, my team proposed a 14-day, no blood testing window leading up to the fight. But it was rejected," said Mayweather.
"I am still proposing the 14-day window but he is still unwilling to agree to it, even though this is obviously a fair compromise on my part as I wanted the testing to be up until the fight and he wanted a 30-day cut-off.
"The truth is he just doesn't want to take the tests.
"Manny Pacquiao and his team are denying the people a chance to see the biggest fight ever.
"I know the people will see through their smokescreens and lies.
"I am ready to fight and sign the contract. Manny needs to stop making his excuses, step up and fight."

so much fun seeing this peeps
@philipBs
have u watch the fight of mayweather-marquez and pacquiao-cotto try to check the PPV of those 2 fights. maybe u will see the lights.
@all
if ever mayweather is asking for 14 days windows u should check first the expert people which is the Nevada Sports Athletic Commission (NSAC) for the past years since this commission was formed they never ask for this ridiculous TEST how many BIG FIGHTS has been held in las vegas and it was not tainted by this rumors of fighters using PEDs.
if mayweather keep asking for this procedure that u can't detect PED's by urine testing only maybe we should think ourselves "why is he saying that?" or "why he know's it?" or the direct approached "is he using PEDs and everytime he take urine test turns out to be negative?"
This whole episode has been
This whole episode has been disgusting and ridiculous. Both sides are at fault.
On one hand, Mayweather asked for stuff way beyond the rules of the Nevada commission for the first time in his career. On the other hand, he compromised and was willing to do a 14-day testing window. I think that was reasonable of Mayweather especially after Manny had agreed to some testing up.
Pacquiao personally might not even be aware of the 14 day compromise? The LA Times reported claims that he may not have been informed. I am not sure Manny even knows exactly what is going on and may be being misled possibly. It's a hard situation with him being 8,000 miles away.
if manny does not agree with
if manny does not agree with 14 days i think he is hiding something. emagine 14 days thats a long time to recover. the truth is he can actually take something in the 23rd day and work hard so that on fight night all those chemicals are flush away. but 14days seems to be the best compromise. if he really wants to give his fans a good fight he should agree.
14 days
I think Pacquiao should agree witht the 14 days cut off. ABS-CBN should help convince Paquiao to agree. Power of the people!
@ kapitbisig
calling floyd the "N" word. floyd never made any racial slur at manny. hmmm... i didn't know filipinos were racist. i'm not defending floyd dude, i'm just defending racial equality. one thing that really grinds my gear, i can't stand and hate the most are racist idiots like you.
what an ignorant comment. if someone throws filipino racial slur at you, then you'd bitch and cry foul about it. i have a lot of filipinos man, and i've never met a racist one. i got a lot black friends too and they happen to really nice. i see the mayweathers as ignorant and uneducated and i bet you do too. but you making racist comments like that and stoop down to their level, then you're no different than the mayweathers.
ignorant dumba$ses like you are exactly why racism will never go away.
filipinos don't and shouldn't make racist comments. you guys are better than that. my filipina wife keeps telling me that and i heartfully agree.
get your ignorant comments out of here dude if can't make an intelligent unbiased opinion.
14 days before...
14 days before... that sounds like a reasonable timeframe. i don't know anyone out there who would need 2 weeks to recover from having a small vile of blood taken.
mayweather demanded only this one thing and manny demanded like 12 things and got all of it. and don't give me that crap about manny can demand everything cause he's the bigger draw and money maker. mayweather has the right to make his own demands too. manny is fighting an american, in american soil. money made from this fight comes from the american audience. mayweather's pay-per-view numbers are way higher than manny's. de la hoya (2.4M), hatton (900K), marquez (1M) = 4.3M (do u need a calculator?). manny couldn't even get 500K ppv on the marquez fights combined. there maybe 90 million audiences in the philippines, but people in the philippines don't pay $55-65 for pay-per-view. people pay to watch floyd because they want to see him lose. he maybe a loudmouth azzhole but one thing you need to know about americans is they love circus freaks like mayweather. and americans will pay to watch and be amused by freaks.
and don't even talk about blood testing like you're an expert unless you're a doctor. victor conte, the father of steroids has testified that he designs his drugs to mask from testing especially from urine and even blood to an extent. roids are not like narcotics. you can take it way before a fight and still have its effects.
if manny wants to clean his image in the public eye, then he should do the testing. it doesnt matter if he wins his lawsuit, until he submits to testing, there are still plenty of people who will continue to doubt him.
if manny truly wants redemption that will make him feel better, then he should just take the blood tests (its 14 freakin days before the fight), get in the ring and beat the crap out of mayweather, and get paid $40M, and he can still press on with his lawsuit and possibly get more money.
you can look at it either way. floyd is scared of manny that's why he's demanding blood testing or manny is scared of floyd. it doesnt matter which side your in. manny and floyd doesn't give a $hit what our opinion is.
all the sh!t going on with this fight is just ridiculous beyond comprehension. i guess it happens when you have two big egos involved.
Blood Test after the Fight
Is it true Manny's camp proposed a blood test after the fight as well? Na miss ko yato iyon sa mga ABS news reports.
If yes, then Mayweather should accept this proposal.
I dont believe Manny takes drugs. Kasama sa boxing ang psychological advantage. Dinidiskartehan ni Mayweather si Pacman. Trying to impose his will. Siyempre gusto lumaban ni Mayweather kay Manny. Crazy huge $$$$$ money iyan. But a random blood test before the match, psychologically may effect iyan.
If its true Manny's camp offered the after-the-fight blood test then that should put to rest Mayweather's insinuation of Manny taking drugs
Make Clear To "Mu"
Olympic style dope testing only applies to amateur athletes joining the Olympics which are held every four years. Every participant in this games must submit and obey the governing rules of the Olympic committee.
Manny and Floyd are no more amateur athletes they are what we call "Professional Athletes". Professional athletes are not governed by the rules and governance of the Olympic but by the commission in which they are joined. Hence they are subjected to its rule and governance.
Floyd cannot demand new rules or counteract any of these covenant set upon by the commission. Manny on the other hand wants to follow what is set upon by the commission which will be handling their support boxing match. So if Floyd or his father is intelligent enough they should abide by these regulations.
It is plain and simple bully type of attitude and cowardice which perpetuates minorities in the U.S.
Read between the lines
Take a survey and we will clearly know who really is a coward. Right from the moment Manny knocked out Hatton, Mayweather Sr. is smart enough to know that he is the man to beat. The great possibility of his son’s first ever lost is now at hand. He must find a way to avoid the Pacman. After all, reputation is more important than $25 million the fight can generate. He then comes up with his ingenious idea that started them all… accuse Manny of taking illegal drugs!
I guess the idea did worked out. They knew Manny won’t agree to a blood test close to the fight. It make sense why. It is an open book that Manny had a thing about drawing his blood near the fight.
But read between the lines folks… Manny agrees to any kind of test, 30 days, or even 24 days before and right after the fight. Supposing Manny is taking drugs, whatever the outcome of the fight is, it will surely be detected and will be even more humiliating for his ward.
This whole accusation of illegal drugs right from the start is only meant to avoid Manny. It started out as an “opinion”, now some are believing it, even the Mayweathers themselves are starting to be convinced from the lies they started. Just like a guilty person starting to be convinced that he is innocent.
