MANILA, Philippines – The camp of Manny Pacquiao said that instead of calling out the Filipino champion through Twitter, Floyd Mayweather Jr. should formalize his challenge by sending a real fight offer.

In a statement posted in Examiner.com, Team Pacquiao said:

"We don't take MAYWEATHER'S tweet seriously, and are always ready to fight the undefeated AMERICAN anytime. Sign the contract, sign a statement. If you really want the fight, we say yes."

Mayweather, whose three-month jail sentence was pushed to June, demanded Pacquiao to face him on May 5.

"My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in. Step up Punk," he tweeted.

Pacquiao said he wanted to fight Mayweather in late May. He also asked for a 50-50 purse split for the bout to push through.

Pacquiao said that if Mayweather accepts a 50-50 purse split, each fighter stands to earn around $50 million to $60 million.

"S'ya na dapat ang mag-oo... Priority ng Top Rank, namin, na matuloy ang laban na 'yun dahil 'yun ang hinihintay mga tao [He has to say yes... The priority of Top Rank is for the fight to push through since people are waiting for that]," Pacquiao said.

But his team refused to take Mayweather’s challenge seriously.
