Pacquiao-Clottey presscon set in Dallas on Jan 19
MANILA, Philippines -- The contract is already signed for the pay-per-view fight of Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey, according to Top Rank Promotions.
The March 13 bout, which is called “The Event,” will be airing live worldwide.
The official kick-off for “The Event” Pacquiao vs Clottey will be a press conference on January 19 at the Dallas Stadium.
Lee Samuels of Top Rank said that it will be an epic press conference.
Two levels of the stage were made just for the kickoff. A total of 50 Cowboys cheerleaders will be present to dance for the audience. A special fireworks display is also expected to happen.
Veteran host Michael Buffer will be hosting while Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will be the speaker for the event.
Pacquiao will be flying to New York on a private jet for the second press conference that will take place at the Madison Square Garden on January 20. After that, Pacquiao will head straight to train in Los Angeles, California.
Top Rank added that Pacquiao needs to work and train hard for the bout since Clottey is a fighter who has never been knocked out in any of his matches. Clottey and Pacquiao are both from Top Rank.
Pacquiao’s erstwhile opponent, Floyd Maywether, Jr., is said to be fighting on the same day as the Clottey clash. Rumors say that Mayweather will be fighting Paulie Malignaggi.
No confirmation has been made yet by anyone from Mayweather or Golden Boy Promotions.
If the Mayweather bout does take place in Las Vegas, boxing fans will be divided watching two of the world’s boxing greats. Pay-per-view would know who will be getting more buys.
Leaving on Sunday
Pacquiao will leave on Sunday for the US to attend the official kick off of his fight with Clottey.
According to a report by Philboxing.com will leave together with Michael Koncz, trainer Nonoy Neri, lawyer Jing Gacal and assistant cook Haplas Fernandez.
Before leaving the Filipino boxer will celebrate the birthday of his wife Jinkee at the Paradise Island Beach and Park in Samal Island.
Assistant Filipino trainer Buboy Fernandez is now already at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles with chief trainer Freddie Roach.
Pacquiao is expected to make 7 weeks of training at the Wild Card Gym. With a report by Philboxing.com

PPV
This report does not say whether this PPV event will be covered by HBO or not. Remember that HBO is in a quandary as to what event to cover if both fights (Pacquiao-Clottey or Mayweather vs. unnamed opponent) indeed fall on the same date. If HBO chooses the Pacquiao fight, then that will affirm Pacqiao's status as the number 1 PPV draw and hopefully, silenced the loud-mouth Mayweather.
I think the Philippine boxing
I think the Philippine boxing hero will get the most pay-per-view buys... I guess the reason why there will be a big audience to Paquiao-Mayweather is because most of these people are just interested to watch how Floyd will be defeated by Pacquiao, and most of the people don't like Floyd.
Primer
Pacquiao at Mayweather Jr.

great, another wannabe poser who thinks he's an expert boxing analyst. What an intelligent analysis you just made genius! Did you know no one has ever knocked Clottey out? His only loses where to Baldomir via disqualification which he was winning, a decision lost to Margarito which he could've have easily won if he didn't break his hand during the fight, and against Cotto via split decision which many people thought he won. Clottey has one the most solid chin in boxing today and has a solid defense.
This is going to be a tough fight for Manny. And I salute him for having the balls to fight Clottey. Wouldn't be surprised if this goes 12. Speed will definitley win it for Manny.
So next time you make some kind analysis, get your lips out Paquiao's a$s so you can make a real unbiased intelligent analysis.
Contract signed.. I hope it's
Contract signed.. I hope it's not another BS catchweight match.
Glad they're doing all that extra spectacle coz it'll definitely help drum up interest for this fight. Jerry Jones is really good when it comes to promoting and getting people interested like he's done for the Cowboys. Bob can promote the hell out of any fight. Boxing I think needs that kind of creative promotion not just the boring "oh let's bring the fight to Vegas, let's get as many people to come and we'll take their money away."
Cowboys are playing the Vikings that day. Cool! Go Cowboys! Not a fan but I hate the Vikings so much that I'd cheer for Dallas..
