Pacquiao yet to make final decision on next fight
MANILA, Philippines – Boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao said he has yet to make a final decision on his next opponent this year.
Although he wanted a superfight against the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr., Pacquiao said he is not closing his door on his other options.
“Wala pa naman akong inoo-ohan at open pa 'yung negotiation... with Mayweather, [Miguel] Cotto and [Lamont] Peterson atsaka, [Juan Manuel] Marquez,” he said in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News’ Dyan Castillejo.
Pacquiao said he could go for a Mayweather fight if the American boxer agrees to meet him in late May.
He also wants a 50-50 purse split with Mayweather for the fight to be made.
Mayweather recently called out Pacquiao via Twitter, saying he is ready to fight the Pinoy champ on May 5.
The American boxer, however, has yet to submit a formal fight offer to the Filipino champion.
“Mahirap kasi magsalita e, tapos depende talaga iyan sa anong napakaloob ng Lord,” said Pacquiao.
Temporary stadium
Boxing promoter Bob Arum said the soonest possible time for a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight is sometime in late May.
He said that if the super fight is held on May 5 as Mayweather demanded, it will most likely be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, which only seats around 16,500 people.
"In order to maximize revenue for the fight, you have to have a stadium larger than 16,500," Arum said.
He said they would need to build a temporary stadium for the fight to maximize the earning.
"The (temporary stadium) wouldn't be ready with any degree of certainty in the beginning of May. It would be available at the end of May," he said.

I think Pakyaw is now afraid
I think Pakyaw is now afraid to fight Floyd after his dismal performance against JMM, a counter-puncher like Floyd. As a counter-puncher, JMM is good. But Floyd is the best. In my opinion, Pakyaw is now the one making excuses to avoid fighting Floyd. Why? Recently, when Floyd was about to serve his original sentence, Pakyaw made an announcement that he was willing to get a lower purse just to fight Floyd, thinking that Floyd couldn't fight anyway because he was supposed to go to jail in the next few days. But now that Floyd is free to fight on May 5th Pakyaw now wants a 50/50 purse split to fight Floyd. Also, Pakyaw now wants to fight Floyd in last week of May or first week of June knowing that Floyd cannot fight in those dates as he is scheduled to be incarcerated on June 1st. Only my opinion guys.
Manny = Money
Manny sounds more like FMJ. He is more for the money than what the boxing fans want. Boxing is a very dangerous sport. He has only one life. He better make the most of it.
