MANILA, Philippines – Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White has not talked to former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre since the fighter decided to take a break from mixed martial arts.

The popular St-Pierre opted to take a break after UFC 167, which saw him retain his belt against Johny Hendricks in controversial fashion.

It is not sure if he will return to competition at all.

Georges St-Pierre said he wants to go handle his stuff and take some time off,” White said, as quoted by MMA Mania. “We haven’t talked about Georges St-Pierre since.”

“We haven’t called Georges St-Pierre. We’re letting Georges St-Pierre have his time. If Georges St-Pierre decides he wants to come back and fight, then he can come back and fight,” he added.

St-Pierre, in a separate MMA Mania interview, left the door open for a comeback even as he said he truly needs a break from the sport.

“I don’t want to say retirement, because it’s not retirement,” he said. “I’d say it’s a break. I need a break to live a normal life.”

“If I want to come back, one day if I feel like it, I will come back stronger,” he promised.

With St-Pierre out, White has now lost his two biggest pay-per-view draws as Brazilian legend Anderson “The Spider” Silva is also out due an injury of his own.
