Former two-division world MMA champion Dan Henderson plans to dominate ex-middleweight king Rich Franklin in “every aspect” when they collide in UFC 93 at the O2 Arena in Dublin, Ireland Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

“I wanna control and beat him in every aspect and that includes the striking,” said Henderson in a promotional interview by UFC.com.

Henderson, who held the PRIDE Fighting Championship titles in the 183 and 205 pound division, said he has worked extensively with southpaw fighters while preparing against the left-handed Franklin.

“I've got a number of lefties in the gym and brought in a couple of others also and I don't see him all that goofy,” said Henderson. “I mean, I'm probably just as goofy as a right handed guy as seen by a lefty.”

Compared to other MMA fighters, Henderson believes he has “more to offer” in terms of fighting skills. This, he said, will able him to control the fight.

“Everybody's well rounded these days but I feel that i've got more tools in the tool bag. So I can control the fight a little better, where I wanted to go, that way,” he said.

The Californian, who is coming off a victory over Rousimar Palhares in UFC 88, holds an MMA record of 23-7.

Henderson thinks the match will boil down to the execution of each fighter's game plan.

“Every fight comes down to being technical in you game plan and executing that game plan in addition to being in great condition. and everybody in this stage of the game is in pretty good condition so it's definitely one of those things as far as executing the game plan,” he said.

Franklin, who totes a 26-3 win loss slate, earlier said he expects a fast-paced fight against Henderson.

“He's pretty tenacious,” Franklin said in a separate interview. “He's pretty much coming forward the whole fight.”

Franklin said he may have to stick and move to control the former PRIDE FC star.

“I believe if I don't get stupid and stand in front of him, [I’m gonna make it],” he said. “[I’ll] use my footwork to my advantage and move around. That's gonna be the key to win.”
