Patriots remain atop of ABL standings
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Patriots continued to lead their Southeast Asian counterparts in the standings of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).
The Patriots are on top of the standings with 9 wins and 4 losses (22 points). They secured their latest victory on Sunday over the Thailand Tigers, 91-87.
It was the 3rd time that the Patriots won over the Tigers in the ABL, according to the league’s official site.
They first won in October, 74-61, then in December, 77-61. Both games took place at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City. Sunday’s game, meantime, was held at the Nimibutr National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Patriots, who lost their 2 games prior to Sunday’s clash with the Tigers, were powered by Gabriel Freeman, Warren Ybanez, Jason Dixon, Robert Wainwright, and John Alcaraz.
They will see action against the Brunei Barracudas on Sunday at the Ynares Sports Arena.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Satria Muda BritAma is at No. 2 with 8-6 (22 points) while the Singapore Slingers are at No. 3 with 8-4 (20 points).
The Barracudas are currently in 4th place with 6-7 (19 points). Malaysia’s KL Dragons are in 5th place with 5-8 (18 points) while the Tigers are in 6th place with 3-10 (16 points).
