PBA OKs Petron, Barako, San Mig multi-player trade
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – The Philippine Basketball Association has (PBA) approved a multi-player deal between basketball clubs Petron Blaze, Barako Bull and San Mig Coffee.
A subsequent trade also involved Alaska Milk and Ginebra San Miguel.
According to an announcement posted on PBA’s Facebook page on Tuesday, league commissioner Chito Salud has allowed the trade involving eight players.
Based on the deal, Barako Bull will be shipping Ronald Tubid to Petron Blaze in exchange for Alex Mallari and Jojo Duncil.
San Mig Coffee will be trading JC Intal, Jonas Villanueva and Aldrech Ramos for Barako Bull's Alex Mallari, Leo Najorda and Lester Alvarez.
San Mig Coffee will also acquire the 2014 first-round pick granted by Petron Blaze to Barako Bull.
The Energy management later traded Barako Bull’s Ramos for Alaska Milk's Mac Baracael.
Barako Bull then transferred Baracael to Ginebra San Miguel for Allein Maliksi.
The multi-player trade was done ahead of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, which begins on February 8.
San Mig Coffee (formerly known as B-Meg Derby Ace) is the defending champion in the import-flavored conference.
