Viloria rushed to hospital after losing IBF title
MANILA, Philippines (1st UPDATE) - Brian Viloria was rushed to hospital after collapsing inside his locker room at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City following a 12th-round loss to Colombian Carlos Tamara on Saturday.
A radio dzMM report said Viloria was rushed by an ambulance to the San Juan de Dios Hospital after collapsing in his dressing room due to exhaustion.
The report said that according to nurses, Viloria was already conscious upon arrival at the hospital at around 3 p.m..
The boxer was immediately transferred to the Makati Medical Center where he will undergo a 45-minute CT scan.
Games and Amusements Board (GAB)'s Dr. Radentor Viernes told reporters at the hospital that Viloria suffered a 3-centimeter cut in his right eyebrow. He added that the boxer also sustained bruises in his face because of the powerful blows from the Colombian boxer.
Sports analyst Ronnie Nathanielz told radio dzMM that Viloria must have been drained from his fight against Tamara.
“He was totally drained and I think that caused the problem for him,” Nathanielz said.
Viloria went down twice during his fight against Tamara. He lost after the referee stopped the fight in the 12th round.
Tamara won by technical knockout (TKO), snatching the Filipino's International Boxing Federation (IBF) light flyweight crown.
Meanwhile, two Filipinos -- Donnie "Ahas" Nietes and Jimrex Jaca -- won their undercard fights. – Reports from Dyan Castillejo, ABS-CBN News and Dexter Ganibe, radio dzMM

Watch Out Manny!
Manny Pacquiao should be careful! The fate of Brian Viloria should serve as a warning for the Filipino boxing hero. It is better to have a living hero.
Enough!
Viloria and his camp should know that it's time to stop. He should accept the fact that boxing is not for him. He was given a chance to be a champion. I think that would be a good memory already, rather than getting beaten hard again. It's time to raise the white flag.
RETIRE!
Viloria, pls. accept the that u r not a great fighter that u wat to be.. plss. help your self .. RETIRE NOW!!!
YOU CANNOT WIN THEM ALL
Sad news but that reality. Viloria should now quit boxing and instead concentrate on a new career, maybe as sportscaster. His small and lacks power punch. He has no more 'heart' of a true Filipino fighter. He may have been bitten by the 'American bug' which drains his energy to fight like a Filipino warrior. Good luck to a new career.
