PBA teams bring in imports for Commissioner's Cup
MANILA, Philippines – Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) teams are already preparing for the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup even as the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters and the Powerade Tigers are still fighting over the Philippine Cup crown.
PBA teams have already brought in their imports for the upcoming conference, with Talk 'N Text signing Omar Samhan and Powerade bringing in Dwayne Jones, according to PBA.ph.
Barangay Ginebra will bring back 7-foot-1 Chris Alexander, while Petron Blaze will introduce Nick Fazekas.
Meanwhile, the B-Meg Llamados will have Denzel Bowles, the Alaska Aces will play with Matt Haryasz and the Meralco Bolts will introduce Jelani McCoy.
The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are still considering signing NBA veteran Jake Voskuhl, while the Air21 Express are considering three players: Darnell Lazare, Jeff Foote or Taj Gray.
Meanwhile, the PBA Board of Governers have yet to decide on the status of Smart Gilas center and naturalized player Marcus Douthit, who is willing to play for any team.
The Board will decide on which team Douthit will be loaned to.
But Douthit will miss the first five days of the Commissioner’s Cup, as he completes his contract with the Chinese Basketball Association on February 15.
