Drug testing not a problem for Bradley

Unbeaten boxer Timothy Bradley Jr. readily agreed to take part in random drug testing as one of the conditions for his April 2014 rematch against Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.

Bradley told RingTV that he has no problem at all with that condition, especially as it will be the third straight fight that he will have to undergo random drug testing.

“I had it for the (Ruslan) Provodnikov fight and the (Juan Manuel) Marquez fight,” said Bradley.

The drug testing will be done by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA), which also conducted the drug testing for Bradley’s previous fights against Provodnikov and Marquez.

“I’m just trying to continue to do my due diligence as far as my career, and as far as cleaning up the sport,” said Bradley. “I’m going to have the drug testing in this fight as well.”

“We both have agreed to VADA. Like I said, we’ve both agreed to all of the terms and that’s part of the terms, the VADA testing.”

For Pacquiao, it will be the second straight bout that he will undergo random drug testing. VADA also handled the testing for his bout against Brandon Rios last November.

Pacquiao passed all the tests, but Rios failed the post-fight drug test and was suspended for six months by the China Professional Boxing Association.
