MANILA, Philippines – The Miami Heat overcame a sluggish first quarter to eventually rout the upset-seeking New Orleans Hornets, 109-95, behind another all-around performance from LeBron James.

James nearly posted a triple-double with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists, while Dwyane Wade also added 22 points for Miami.

The Heat were coming off a big victory against the Chicago Bulls and appeared to sleepwalk through the first quarter and early in the second, as the Hornets built a surprising 12-point lead, 45-33, after a 3-pointer from Xavier Henry.

But the Heat ended the second quarter on an 18-4 run to take a 51-49 lead, and the Hornets would not be able to recover.

Wade, who struggled in the Heat’s victory against Chicago, was the catalyst of the second quarter run, scoring 13 of the 18 Miami points.

"Dwyane really set the tone from that point," Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra said on NBA.com. "I was very encouraged by that. We were able to get a lot of opportunities of our defense."

"When a guy like D-Wade has a rhythm, you've got to keep feeding him," James added. "He brought us back."

Four other players scored in double figures for the Heat, who hiked their record to 16-5 and sent the Hornets to their 17th loss of the season.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs dealt the Memphis Grizzlies their fourth straight loss, 83-73.

The Spurs were coming off an overtime loss against the Dallas Mavericks but played with more energy than the Grizzlies.

Rookie Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs with 12 points and 10 boards, while Matt Bonner came off the bench to score a team-high 15 points. Three other players scored in double-figures for San Antonio.

Rudy Gay and Marc Gasol, the main offensive weapons for Memphis, combined for a paltry 8 points and shot 3-of-18 from the field. Gay missed all of his 7 field goal attempts.

In Milwaukee, the Bucks completely dominated the Detroit Pistons, 103-82.

The Bucks never trailed in the game, shooting 51% from the floor and leading by as much as 23 points. Brandon Jennings led all scorers with 21 points, while Mike Dunleavy added 20 points off the bench.
