Virtual Sports Inc. and some of their biggest stars
MANILA, Philippines -- Virtual Sports Inc., touted as the biggest sports management firm in the Philippines, was officially launched in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig on Thursday night.
The agency boasts a large number of clientele from professional and amateur basketball and motor sports, including Barangay Ginebra's Greg Slaughter, San Mig Coffee's James Yap, Talk 'N Text's Jimmy Alapag and Rain or Shine's Jeric Teng.
Also among their clients are top amateur stars, including La Salle's Jeron Teng, National University's Ray Parks, San Beda's Baser Amer and NLEX Road Warrior's Kevin Alas.
According to Virtual Sports' president Dondon Monteverde, they are committed to uphold the standards in sports representation.
This includes the provision of wide range of opportunities and services to maximize their client's talents not only in sports, but also in business, education, media and entertainment.
"We believe our athletes can play at the highest level, and at the same time, tap into their talents," said Monteverde.
"This is more than basketball and sports. We make sure we assist and support them in pursuing their other passions."
Aside from Monteverde, Virtual Sports' management team includes sports agent Charie Dy, the firm's CEO, and managing directors Edgar Tan and Paula Punla.
"S'yempre it's an honor for me na makasama dito," said Yap. "First time lang na magkakaroon ng ganitong klaseng agency."
"Si Dondon kasi ang humawak sa 'kin ever since na pumunta ako dito sa Manila. Siya ang nag-guide sa kin. Parang tatay ko na yang si Dondon at maga-guide na rin niya 'yung mga ibang players na kasama natin dito," added the two-time PBA Most Valuable Player.
Jeron, for his part, said he's privileged to be part of the agency.
"They really handled us well... I'm excited to work with them and I'm excited for the future," he said.
