Pacquiao says Bradley could be next opponent
MANILA, Philippines – The list of Manny Pacquiao’s potential opponents this coming June has been narrowed down and Timothy Bradley seems to be leading the race.
Pacquiao himself confirmed to ABS-CBN correspondent Jay Dayupay that Bradley is a strong contender among his potential opponents.
“Kausapin ko pa si Bob Arum kung anong mga napag-usapan. [Ang] suggestion is Bradley pero wala pa namang final decision,” he said.
Other boxers being considered for Pacquiao are Juan Manuel Marquez, Miguel Cotto, and Lamont Peterson.
The list was later whittled down to Bradley and Cotto after Arum suggested a July 14 bout between Marquez and Peterson.
If Cotto refuses to relent from asking Pacquiao to fight at 150 pounds, then Bradley, who fights as a junior welterweight, is likely to win the Pacquiao sweepstakes.
Pacquiao, meanwhile, took heed to Catholic Church’s request to become a “bible ambassador.”
“Gusto ko i-encourage ang lahat ng mga tao na magbasa ng bible,” he said.
His decision received full support from his mother Mommy Dionisia, who is a devout Catholic.
