Pacquiao on Floyd: Not angry, just disappointed
MANILA, Philippines – Seven-time world champion Manny Pacquiao is not mad but disappointed over Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s recent statement blaming him for their scuttled March 13 fight.
"I'm not angry at Floyd," Pacquiao told LATimes.com. "I just feel disappointed in his allegations."
Pacquiao is currently in the thick of preparations for his title defense against Ghanian Joshua Clottey.
The Filipino boxer said that despite the failed negotiations between his camp and Mayweather's, he still wants the fight.
Pacquiao, however, said he is not sure if the other side shares the same thought.
"I can fight him," said the boxing icon from General Santos City. "I'm just not sure he ever really wanted the fight."
His coach, Freddie Roach, also wanted the fight to finally settle who’s the better boxer between the two pound-for-pound greats.
But Roach said the only thing that stops the dream fight from becoming a reality is Mayweather’s blood-testing procedure. And this he cannot accept.
"If we had given in on the blood testing, it would have been like giving Mayweather the first round. Why would we do that?” asked the Hall of Fame trainer.
"Manny hates needles. He said that's what cost him the first [Erik] Morales fight [March 2005]. We made a mistake on that one… Manny said it made him weak for three days,” explained Roach.
Pacquiao currently holds World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight crown, which he will defend against a true welterweight in Clottey.
Roach says the Pacquiao-Clottey bout might even turn out to be better for fans than a Pacquiao vs Mayweather.
"Clottey comes forward and it could become a war," he said.

afraid to lose
i think Floyd Mayweather Jr and his father just don't want Floyd Jr to lose, because they know Pacquiao will surely knock him out if they will fight. Pacquiao has proven it to Mayweather Sr after his boxer, Hatton has been knocked out by Pacquiao... The Event: Pacquiao-Clottey fight updates (link removed) Go Pacquiao! You're always the best!

RE: Boycott
If you want to support Manny, then go buy his PPV. What has not buying the Mayweather/Mosley got to do with supporting Manny? Manny has nothing to do with that fight nor will he make any money out of it. And I highly doubt Manny gives a s**t about it. I'm buying Manny's fight coz he's one of my favorite fighters but I'm also buying the Mayweather/Mosley fight coz I'm a Mosley and a boxing fan. We the boxing fans have been waiting for that fight to happen for the past 10 years now. Mosley's going to beat the living s**t out of Mayweather and I'm paying to see it live.
at rasec
Ulol!...

i just wanna comment on this
i just wanna comment on this issue here about pacquiao and mayweather. i don't get why pacquiao is so affected by whatever mayweather is saying. pacquiao got power and control on this fight not mayweather. the only thing i can see why mayweather is trying fight pacquiao is for "money". he knows that a lot of people all over the world is going to watch it. this is all about the money pacquiao! business man..... sometimes you have to set aside your body and use your brain for god sake. we all know the you are strong and got the speed. so if i am pacquiao i would not worry about what mayweather is going to say... he needs you, you dont need him! so if thre is anyone who should be chasing about this fight, that would be mayweather not pacquiao. those comments are just baits for you to catch it. who cares about what mayweather is going to say...he is just a piece of miserable, broke boxer and need some money. that's it!
Mayweather-Mosley: The Biggest Charade in Boxing's History
Based on Floyd Mayweather Jnr' statement,
"What people don't know about the sport of boxing. In a fighter's career, a fighter starts off good and he's good until the end of his career or a fighter starts off good and then goes downhill towards the end of his career. A fighter doesn't start off like Manny Pacqauio, just ordinary, and then once he gets over the age of 25 he becomes extraordinary fighter. It just doesn't work like that in this sport of boxing",
considering that Shane Mosley is 38 years old, it implies that Shane Mosley is a over-the-hill, shop-worn, punched ticket fighter.
Therefore, based on what he said, it can be said that he opted out of the Pacquiao fight because he regards Pacquiao to be "an extraordinary fighter", and instead chose to fight Shane Mosley, a fighter "going downhill at the end of his career".
So, why give Mayweather credit in facing Mosley when he himself discredited his opponent? Based on Mayweather's pronouncements, I beg the question, what glory is there if he beat Mosley?
To me, it's either Mayweather suffers from delusions of grandeur, or discredits Mosley to lay the groundwork to boxing's most expensive staged fight. Was he merely reading from a script?
Is Mayweather-Mosley fight going to be the biggest charade in boxing history? We'll only know when the first bell rings!
